Not many places like this left anymore. All I can say is unbelievable!! So far I've only had the corn beef with Swiss and the potatoes and eggs with mozzarella and Virginia baked ham. The bread is always perfect u can tell they hand picked the bakery. The corn beef and Virginia baked ham cooked to perfection. They layer the potatoes and eggs with mozzarella so u don't get stuck with huge potatoes like other spots. Definitely deserving of 5 stars. Don't change a damn thing guys from the staff to the selection top notch all the way. Thanks for the wonderful meals, and to many more!!

This is one of the best sandwich shops out there. Worth going out of your way if you are ever in Red Hook. Italian style, with pickled peppers, hot salad, seeded bread. The egg sandwich is amazing. Pastrami and corn beef is super on point, basically everything here is really good.

I've lived in NYC my whole life and grew up around places like this. I'm glad to see that a place that caters to NYC food and needs with the love and attention it deserves is still around. From the fresh mozzarella, to the freshly made roast beef, Defonte's has all your hear could desire. The fresh bread that engulfs these amazing sandwiches is delicious. Keep up the good work!

On of the best when in Red Hook Brooklyn. I love the Guiseppie and their egg sandwiches. Classic Brooklyn Italian eatery. The Italian bread can't be beat. The ingredients fresh and delicious. You will not leave here hungry. Its a bit pricey but worth every bite.
